V6 and MANUAL transmission

Is Mazda ever going to offer the Mazda 6 with a nice six speed manual
tranny (and with the V6 engine option)?

If Honda and Acura can do it, why not Mazda?

I'm still driving my '99 Mazda 626 LX-V6 with 5 SPD manual for this very
reason. Runs great and mileage is still under 130 K, but will there
never be another car like my current one ever again? I'm saddened. I'd
hate to have to go with a Honda or Acura some day.

I read somewhere that the V6 was designed SOLELY for an automatic
transmission and that, since Mazda sold relatively few V6/5-speed
manual first-gen Mazda 6s, that it wasn't worth the expense to design
a new block for the new 6. That's the same reasoning behind the
elimination of the wagon and hatchback models.

Ahh! Just barely broken in! I put 200K on my '89 626
before my wife seized the clutch. That was an intresting
OTR rescue. I also miss the 626, it was a great car.
